Talent refers to the potentiality that manifests itself in a high level of performance in one or more specialized areas

The roots of education lie hidden in an unknown past and those of competition are even less traceable. Children spontaneously seek competition with their peers. They seem to have an innate desire to compare themselves with others in every way, for example, by running and wrestling. Such play is obviously beneficial to a child's development.

Just as with education, also some forms of competition became formalized long ago in human history. That is, competition which is bound by rules and organized by specialists.

Emanating this reasoning we will conduct a talent search exam in Gwalior every year from this year onward which aims at :

1. Indulging students to sharpen their logical and analytical thinking and evolving their reasoning and thinking process which makes them capable of solving complex problems with ease and confidence.

2. Providing support to build a strong foundation and imbibing the fundamentals from the very basic to the highest level of competition in Maths, Science, Social, English, Reasoning by judging their aptitude and scientific temperament.

3. Impel them to work on their time Management skills that are required to face any competitive exam with maximum output.

4. To identify talented students and nurture their talent.

5. It honors and helps talented students by providing FINANCIAL ASSIATANCE in the form of scholarship.

About NTSE

National Talent Search Examination is a flagship activity of the NCERT Started in the year 1963.

The National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) were established by the Government of India in the year 1961 with a view to bringing about qualitative improvement in school education in the country. No sooner the Council was set up than it mounted a number of programmes in this direction. One such programme was to identify and nurture the talented students. This programme took up the shape of a scheme called National Science Talent Search Scheme (NSTSS) in the year 1963 which provided for the identification of talented students and awarding them with scholarships

From the year 2012-13:-

* NTSE will be conducted for Class X students.

* The examination will consist of Mental Ability Test(MAT) and Scholastic Ability Test(SAT).

* Quota for State/UT will be computed proportionally on the basis of students enrolment in Class IX and X.

* The amount of scholarship will be Rs.500/- per month for all the students studying in Class XI onwards(irrespective of class/course) upto Ph.D. level.

The scholarships under the present scheme are awarded to the candidates for pursuing courses in sciences and social sciences up to doctoral level and in professional courses like medicine and engineering.



The Kishore Vaigyanik Protsahan Yojana (KVPY) is an on-going National Program of Fellowships in Basic Sciences, initiated and funded by the Department of Science and Technology, Government of India, to attract exceptionally and highly motivated students for pursuing basic science courses and research career in science.

The objectives of the program are to identify students with talent and aptitude for research; help them realize their potential in their studies; encourage them to take up research careers in Science, and ensure the growth of the best scientific minds for research and development in the country.

The selection of students is made from those studying in XI standard to 1st year in any undergraduate Program in Basic Sciences. Special groups/committees are set up at IISc, to screen the applications and conduct an aptitude test at various centers in the country. Based on the performance in the aptitude test, short-listed students are called for an interview which is the final stage of the selection procedure. For receiving a fellowship, both aptitude test and interview marks are considered.

Generous scholarships are provided up to the pre-Ph.D. level to the selected KVPY Fellows.
